  1. Strauss batting all day, imperiously, for 161*, the highest England score of the Ashes and the key to our first victory at Lord’s since 1934
  2. Flintoff finishing off the job on Day 4
  3. The other great hero: Trescothick being a hero, but on a smaller, on the Twenty20 finals day at Edgbaston, Somerset v Kent
  4. The end of Monty Panesar? It all goes wrong, Northants v Sussex
  5. The brilliant Caribbean distilled by Dwayne Smith, Somerset v Sussex

Top 5 cricket moments (unseen):

  1. A hotel in Bath, Ponting run out by Flintoff, Steph and Stephen by my side. Doesn’t get any better.
  2. Australia going out of the Twenty20 World Cup in the first round
  3. England annihilating Pakistan, the eventual winners of the tournament, in the same competition
  4. Panesar and Anderson being brilliant at Cardiff, and setting up the Lord’s romp.
  5. Umar Gul taking the best Twenty20 figures ever.
